Creative Footwear Photography by Manuel Mittelpunkt

When it comes to industries ripe for creative innovation, shoe photography probably isn’t the first to spring to most people’s minds. If you’ve seen one shoe pic, you’ve seen them all. Or at least, this is the presumption which Manuel Mittelpunkt seeks to dispel by applying his impressive skill with stills to a niche market - an endeavor which has earned him commissions from the world’s top footwear companies. With such a strong focus on athletics, Manuel’s compositons are intentionally dynamic. Diagonal lines and cyclical movements are common hallmarks of his shooting style. His editorial spreads are accentuated by a keen and saturated sense of color, with each hue placed strategically for emphasis and focus, or defaulting to strong contrasts of light when a monochromatic design is required. Clearly this is not just someone shooting pictures, but an artist/designer striving for the perfect layout.
