The Illustrated Wastelands of Paul White

California artist Paul White illustrates the decay of the industrial age in these impeccably executed color pencil drawings. Among his favorite subjects are abandoned cars - with junkyards providing the bulk of his inspiration. While visions of scrap heaps might not exactly strike the average person as a source of beauty, Paul proves otherwise, recreating scenes of chaos and decay with admirable detail, depth and realism. Every last worn tire, rusted carburetor and busted headlight is rendered with due diligence, ascribing a newfound meaning and purpose for the discarded inventions of days long past.
