The Electrified Photography of Marc Simon Frei

Swiss artist and electric engineer Marc Simon Frei combines past times in this crossover series of photos featuring macro photography of his electric experiments. Armed with a Tesla coil and a Nikon Micro 105mm lens, Marc gives us an up-close and personal look at high voltage phenomena as pioneered by inventor and father of the electric age himself, Nikola Tesla. Whether he’s arcing currents through various objects or rigging up clouds with LEDs to simulate storms, it’s clear that having fun while creating some of the most striking images of electricity is a high priority for this Altdorf resident.
