Parisian artist Romain Trystram combines a love for architecture and vector illustrations in a prolific collections of city vignettes. From NYC to Tokyo, Trystram depicts not only the sprawling, modern skylines with an intense, art-deco efficiency - but also the gritty streets, with a special nod to the typographic talents of local graffiti artists. An interesting variety of palettes are on display, some colors most artists wouldn’t combine, yet these are the tools leveraged to present not just the likeness of a city, but it’s mood and atmosphere. No where is this phenomenon more apparent than his illustrations of night scenes, where the neon fueled kaleidoscope of the city comes to life in the places that never sleep. All images courtesy of Romain Trystram.
