The Parisian muralist known as Astro creates epic, dimension-bending wall art at impressive scales and an uncanny level of detail. The winding patterns which are prevalent throughout his work are the vestiges of his early Wild Style era. Coming up in the world of street art, one of the top priorities for initiates is quite literally getting one's name out there. Much of his early work is just that, though you can already see his discipline and dedication along with the motif that would soon permeate his more ambitious visions.
In time Astro's reputation grew, and with multiple murals throughout Europe and a solid presence at global festivals, he could afford to be a lot more abstract in his presentations. This freedom established his signature of calligraphic patterns which are applied to multiple, three-dimensional planes - an act of visual trickery forming recesses and extrusions from flat surfaces. Producing these designs at a small scale would present enough of a challenge on its own for most people, though it appears that much like his name implies, Astro thrives when there's plenty of space to stretch out in.
