Cadena Asociados Revamps Local Business with Modern Style

Design firm Cadena Asociados (C+A) recently applied a make-over to “El Moro”, one of Mexico City’s culinary landmarks that has been serving the public since 1935. Given its prodigious reputation the owners of this family business wanted to upgrade its image in the form of a style reboot. C+A met this demand with its installation of custom tile designs which would pay homage to the company’s rich history while adding a modern, contemporary edge to attract more customers. The redesign would reclaim every aspect of the business, including the menus, uniforms and the space itself. From their press release:

The new graphic system takes into account the figurative relation between such elements and proposes a simplification in form, taking them to their minimalist expression to retain its essence but with a fresher and dynamic form. This new take on graphism translates into endless compositional possibilities that apply significantly to the brand’s identity, communication, architecture and interiorism. The chromatic palette, born from the unmistakeable mosaics that gave the brand its personality, are contrasted with a white hue inspired by sugar.
